Candida Thring artist 'Mayan Memories' purchased from the Francis Kyle Gallery on Maddox Street in the 1980s.

The Gallery was founded in 1978 by Francis Kyle and for 36 years occupied 9 Maddox Street in the heart of Mayfair, between Regent Street and Bond Street, until September 2014. Francis Kyle Gallery represents some 40 contemporary artists from Britain, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and the United States.  On the principal three floors of its building the Gallery presented some 10 individual exhibitions annually, with a signature theme exhibition, usually commissioned from around twenty or so artists, every eighteen months.  On its upper floors in Maddox Street were viewing rooms for works in stock and new works by artists in the Gallery’s stable, for the most part works in oil or acrylic on canvas, mixed media, watercolour, pastel and drawings with occasionally sculpture and ceramic pieces.  From time to time the gallery published etchings and lithographs and its program included on a regular basis exhibitions devoted to well-established artists working in etching from France, Germany and the United States.
