Fabulous, and very rare, original oil on canvas by the internationally celebrated artist Douglas Ettridge(1927–2009). The work shows the first Concorde BOAA G in flight over Windsor with Windsor castle and the river Thames forming part of the background landscape. Important, unpublished images of this Icon of aviation history rarely come on the market. This is believed to be Douglas Ettridge’s first Concorde oil painting, painted in 1976. Concorde held a special fascination for the artist, who booked his own special farewell to the plane by arranging to fly on its very last flight. Several of his Concorde oil paintings are known to be held in Important aviation collections in the USA. Comes with original frame.
