1970s Sintesi Table Lamp by Ernesto Gismondi



1970s table lamp designed from the Sintesi range by Ernesto Gismondi in 1976 for Artemide. The light is designed with an adjustable bulb holder and flexible foot which allows it to be easily moved into various positions. PAT tested to UK standards.

Gismondi founded Artemide in 1960 which to this day produces some of the most innovative and interesting lighting coming out of Italy. The Sintesi range was well ahead of its time and although predates postmodernism bears seminal characteristics of the movement. A close friend of Sottsass, Gismondi provided the capital to get the Memphis Milano collection off the ground and into production and remains a major shareholder to this day.
