1950's Mid-Century Modern Hans Wegner Oak Veneer Daybed Model 258 for GETAMA

An iconic Danish Hans Wegner daybed produced by GETAMA and originally designed in 1954. The daybed is made from oak veneer raised on solid oak legs and has it's original spring loaded mattress which has been recovered in Romo Group's Kirkby Design's Latch Marine fabric. I have had the original GETAMA backing fabric re-sown onto the new fabric to help illustrate its provenance. This fabric has been professionally cleaned but does show some stains due to its age and past use. Unfortunately even the professional cleaning couldn't remove them but it's very clean. The inside of the area behind the backrest serves as a blanket, sheet or pillow storage area lifts up and slots upright to allow the sofa to turn into a very comfortable bed for one person. A wonderfully designed piece which works well as a sofa in the living room and also as a daybed in your guest room. Be aware that its very well-made and heavy especially if you're in a top floor flat with tight corners to manoeuvre around. In good vintage condition with some wear and tear due to its age.
