1960's German Paul Secon for Sompex Swag Table Lamp

A 1960's German table lamp designed by Paul Secon for Sompex. The shade is designed with an inner lucite frame surrounded by clear taught nylon strings on the outer surface pulled tight to create this wonderful and unusual designed lamp. The shade sits on a square lucite base and stem. The lamp looks particularly striking with an E27 incandescent Edison light bulb which reflects a warm and beautiful light off all of the strings. In very good vintage condition.

In the 1960's Sompex brought designer Paul Secon on board to add a more innovative approach to their existing product range designing lamps made of a perspex structure covered by tense nylon threads.
