Circa 1900s oak balloon back side or dining chair which is characterised by its distinctive balloon-shaped back and simply carved around its border. The chair has turned legs and a newly reupholstered seat, making it both stylish and comfortable.

Balloon back chairs were first introduced in the early 19th century and quickly became popular in Victorian homes. Typically made from oak or walnut, and they were often decorated with carvings and other embellishments. Balloon back chairs were used in both formal and informal settings, and they were a popular choice for dining rooms, living rooms, and bedrooms.

The chair is in very good antique condition having been fully restored and reupholstered.  It has been very well cared for by its previous owner. The oak is rich and warm, and the simple carvings are sharp and defined. The chair has been reupholstered in a light fabric with pipe detail.  The underside is covered in brown hessian.
