This beautiful 1978 Royal Copenhagen Viking Plate, titled "Sounding the Lur," is a unique tribute to Danish history and craftsmanship. The plate was originally commissioned by DAK of Roskilde, Denmark, a well-known Danish manufacturer of canned meats, adding an interesting layer to its origin story.

The scene, rendered in classic Royal Copenhagen blue and white hues, vividly depicts two Vikings playing the ancient lur, a horn instrument that was integral to their culture. Crafted from fine porcelain, the piece showcases a detailed and well-painted scene and is in very good vintage condition, a testament to its enduring quality.

For your convenience, a plastic-coated wire has been strung between two holes on the reverse along the rim, allowing for easy wall display. This well-made piece is a perfect and beautiful addition to any collection, or an excellent starting point for one.
