The thick textured glass shade is mounted onto a metal ceiling plate which is white on the inside and black on the exterior and is held in place with two rectangular pieces of metal which it slots into then screws onto therefore making it very easy to mount and change the light bulbs.
The light requires two E27/E26 screw-in light bulbs. I would recommend LEDs for environmental reasons because they generate less heat and last longer. Rewired by a professional electrician and in full working order. In very good vintage condition. It's almost as good as new with only one or two scratches to the black metal rim which aren't noticeable when the shade is in place. Perfect for all smaller rooms of the home especially those with a low ceiling such as a bathroom, hallway or cloak room where height maybe an issue.
