This striking crystal glass ashtray was designed by Paul Isling for Nybro Glasbruk in Sweden during the 1980s. Known as the "Iceberg" design, it's part of the studio's sculptural glass series from the mid to late 20th century.
The name "Iceberg" comes from its textured, frosted pattern that evokes cracked ice or glacial formations. Crafted from pressed clear glass, the piece features a smooth, tactile exterior with a thick, heavy construction. Its base showcases a distinctive "ice" texture that reflects beautifully through the clear glass.
A standout example of Scandinavian glassware, this piece is highly collectible for its craftsmanship and unique aesthetic.
Condition:
Good vintage condition. It appears unused as an ashtray and now serves perfectly as a decorative art glass piece—ideal for a coffee table, sideboard, or as a trinket dish. There are a few tiny bubbles within the glass and three minor chips on the corners, which are not noticeable when displayed.
