1960s Austrian chandelier designed by J.T. Kalmar for Kalmar Lighting. A striking and elegant chandelier with textured faceted crystal glass tubes suspended from a chromed-metal frame. The eight clear glass textured tubes clip onto the frame encircling the lightbulb in the centre. The chandelier when lit sheds a beautiful sparkling light through the crystal tubes.
In good vintage condition. The chromed frame shows some age-related bubbling beneath which isn't visible from below when the light is hung in situ. The glass tubes have some chips which thankfully all face inwards and are not visible from the outside.
A single Edison E27 lightbulb is required. Rewired by a professional electrician and is in full working order. The chandelier has been rewired with a transparent plastic flex which weaves up through the chain to the ceiling cup above. The polished chromed-metal hanging chain and ceiling rose feel like more recent additions.
A perfect addition to most smaller rooms of the home adding a touch of glamour and sparkle. Perhaps a powder room, hallway or landing, small bedroom or boxroom.
