An exquisite vintage pair of Christian Dior clip-on earrings are a rare and magnificent example of the short-lived but legendary collaboration between the French couture house and the master British jeweller Mitchel Maer. Dating to the mid-1950s, specifically between 1952 and 1956, these pieces embody the Victorian-revival elegance that defined Maer’s design language for Dior. Each earring features a sophisticated floral cluster top, meticulously set with faceted citrine-toned crystals that catch the light from every angle. The central floral motif is anchored by a stunning, articulated pear-cut crystal drop, providing a graceful "en tremblant" movement that was a hallmark of Maer’s work. The stones are expertly held in a silver-tone rhodium-plated setting, ensuring both durability and a high-shine finish that beautifully contrasts with the warm, honeyed hues of the crystals. As Mitchel Maer’s partnership with Dior ended abruptly in 1956, these earrings represent a finite period of jewellery history, making them highly sought-after treasures for serious collectors of mid-century fashion and couture accessories. The construction reflects the artisanal quality of a bygone era, offering a bold yet feminine silhouette that transitions seamlessly from a formal evening gala to a refined vintage-inspired daytime look.  In good vintage condition.  Please look at the clusters closely because they're rather abstract in their placement which is original to their design.
