1950s French modernist silver-plate and gently ribbed crystal glass ice bucket or wine cooler designed by silversmith Christofle for its Fleuron Collection. This simple minimalist but incredibly elegant design features two finger-tip handles on opposite sides of a silver-plated two centimetre trim around the top outside edge of the crystal glass bowl.
The silver trim has engraved the 'FLEURON' silversmith hallmark beneath one of the handles.
In good vintage condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs to the crystal. There are some small scratches on the base and one or two faint ones to the body of the bowl. The silver plate from a distance is bright and shiny but on very close inspection there are tiny black dots which is to be expected considering its seventy years old.
A perfect addition to a home bar or as a gift perhaps for a wedding. A very beautiful piece.
