1970s Italian Murano summerso glass bowl, dish or ashtray. The bowl has three indentations creating a shape similar to a Shamrock where the cigarettes used to be placed when it's function was an ashtray although there aren't any signs that it was ever used for this purpose. A beautiful design with red glass submerged in the centre with a wave of turquoise and clear glass surrounding it. Attributed in style to the designs of Flavio Polo for Seguso Vetri d'Arte. A mesmerising piece where the colour's interactions change whichever way you turn it.
In good vintage condition with a very scratched circular base and some small scratches on the sides of underside of the bowl none of which detract from the workmanship and the beauty of the piece.
A beautiful addition to any living room occasional table or illuminated shelving unit where the light can shine through it.
