An eye-catching and striking 1960s Italian pendant hanging light designed by Carlo Nason for Mazzega. The pendant is constructed from five convex, slightly curved, rectangular polished chromed-metal plates with five corresponding concave pieces of thick textured/iced & transparent pieces of Murano glass with amber coloured inclusions flowing down the centre that help to conceal the lightbulb inside. The pendant hangs from a heavy chromed-metal chain and ceiling cup which shows some signs of age related wear. The glass can be removed for cleaning purposes by releasing the two screws holding it in place. Rewired and in full working order. The fixture requires 5 x E14 pygmy lightbulbs preferably LEDs. As illustrated in the images the pendant sheds a beautiful warm light that reflects off the chromed-metal plates because of their convex design.
In very good vintage condition. The pendant is heavy and will need to be fixed into a joist. The height is adjustable by removing the individual links in the chain.
