1950s Swedish Jug by Gunnar Nylund for Rörstrand

A beautifully marbled 1950s Swedish handle-jug designed by Gunner Nylund for the Rörstrand Factory.  The pottery, stoneware jug features a wonderful smooth glaze in marble effect tones of browns and golden-brown colours.  Inscribed on the base:  SWEDEN GN ARL (Model Number).  I find the design absolutely stunning and the vase incredibly tactile.  The jug is in excellent vintage condition however there is a tiny small pot mark/defect from the manufacturing process which I only noticed when I felt it.

Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was the artistic leader for the Rörstrand Factory during the 1940s and 1950s. He was also the artistic director for Nymölle Ceramic Factory for a short period as well.
