1960s Ercol Elm Pebble Set of 3 Nesting Tables

1960s Ercol nest of three 'Pebble' shaped coffee or side tables. Model 354. The table tops are constructed from planks of English Elm and the legs in Beech. This design classic consists of three individual tables, each one sliding neatly underneath the larger one, or any other position as illustrated in the images. Each table is supported on three tapered legs positioned at a splayed angle. The edges are gently curved and rounded over which allows the beauty of the grain to be fully appreciated.  The grain is quite different from table to table which makes the set all the more interesting.

The tables were originally designed by Lucian Ercolani and manufactured in the UK in High Wycombe, Bucks and awarded the Design Guild Mark Award.

With one lady owner the tables are in very good vintage condition.  There are quite a few dents to the largest table top which aren't easy to see because they are highly polished and waxed as well as some small scratches which are barely noticeable.

The photos make the tables look quite dark but they are in fact blonde and lighter than they show.
