1960s Italian silver with a gold tint pineapple shaped ice bucket designed by Mauro Manetti in Firenze, Italy. Designed for Fonderia D'Arte Foundry. Stamped on the base "MM MOD. RIS. MADE IN ITALY". Manetti is well known for his highly decorative sculptural barware and tableware in different forms such as ducks, owls, acorns in both gold and silver. Made from silver-plated cast aluminium.
This eye-catching decorative and/or functional ice bucket would make an interesting addition to your home bar or for display purposes.
The original removable plastic liner sits within the body of the pineapple and can easily be removed for cleaning purposes after use.
The ice bucket has some age related discolouration. The lid is a slightly different colour to the body probably caused by cleaning in the past. It's more silver than the gold tinted base. There is a small crack on the edge of the lid which is barely noticeable but illustrated in one image. The pineapple leaves are worn with some wear to the silver plate with some being quite rusty. The lid isn't fixed and easily slides/lifts off. There isn't a lip to hold it in place per se. Please refer to the images. The worn condition is reflected in the price.
