A very handsome antique Oak plan or map chest which has been converted into a low coffee table with a zinc top added later. The chest comes with four detachable wooden casters which can be added depending on your requirements
The four deep drawers run very smoothly with plenty of room for storage of magazines or paperwork. It's very sturdy and well-made. Each drawer has two brass handles and a central holder for cards to be added to help describe what is held in each drawer in times past when it was in full use. The G (crown) R inscribed on each card holder means shows that it comes from Joseph Rodgers and Sons who were cutlers to "His Majesty" based in Sheffield.
