A stunning pair of wall lights or sconces manufactured during the 1950s by EJS Lighting Corp of Compton, California USA.
The glass lampshade has been formed to recreate a cut crystal staggered with friosted glass at the base to disguise the lightbulb and holder with upper sections made with clear glass. The overall affect is to create a flamed torch. The glass shades are amounted onto polished chrome angled supports.
To remove the lampshade from the chrome support the shade screws onto the chrome base holding it securely in place. The lights would therefore be perfect for use in a bathroom perhaps at either side of a vanity mirror in a bathroom or cloakroom.
A single E14 Edison screw in lightbulb is required in each one. A brass plate which is screwed into the wall slots into the chrome supporting arm and held onto it with two small screws underneath at the back. A very clever design and one that's easy to fit to the wall. Rewired by a professional electrician and in full working order.
Overall in very good vintage condition with no apparent cracks, scratches or chips to the glass. The polished chrome base is also in good condition with minimal scratches and wear.
