1970s German flush mount ceiling light with a grey metal frame and 21 facetted prism crystal glass square elements. Manufactured by Kinkeldey in Germany. The square glass elements are held onto the frame with round-top matt-chrome screws in the centre which makes them easy to remove when fitting the flush mount to the ceiling and for cleaning purposes. The beautiful facetted glass reflects the light beautifully giving a silver shimmering shine and also they hide the bulbs inside.
The flush mount requires 4 x Edison E27/E26 screw in lightbulbs which are not included. The grey metal frame does show some areas of rust which are not visible when the glass is in situ. Some of the glass has some tiny chips which are also not visible. Two of the round top screws are missing and have been replaced with a small bolt. Rewired and in full working order.
Prefect for most rooms of the home perhaps where you have a low ceiling and not enough room for a hanging light. Flush mounts also work well with smaller rooms specifically hallways, landings and powder room/bathrooms.
Kinkeldey Leuchten is a highly prestigious lighting manufacturer based in Bad Pyrmont, Germany which still exists today but these designs are no longer available.
