An unusually large 1970s German Peill & Putzler plafoniere, space-age, opal glass with a lighter striped pattern flush mount ceiling light. The opal striped-glass circular shade is fixed onto the white lacquered metal frame/bulb holder with three interspersed screws which screw into the rim of the shade.
The glass is curved and rounded at the edges and bulbous in the centre with the stripes running across the whole body of the shade. The flush mount is also relatively large, making it a good choice for a variety of spaces with a low ceiling. It would be a beautiful focal point in a living room, dining room, or bedroom to add a something a little different and striking..
Piell & Putzler was a German company that was known for its high-quality glass lighting. Putzler flush mounts were popular in the 1970s.
In very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Four E27 screw in lightbulbs are required which point at 90 degree angles to help disperse the light evenly throughout the shade. Rewired by a professional electrician and in full working order.
