I have also listed this wall light as a table lamp because I think it works well as both.
Designed by Motoko Ishii for Staff Leuchten in Germany during the 1970s, this light can function as either a wall or a table lamp. The hexagonal clear glass shade is silver-coated on the bottom half and clips into a chrome-plated metal fitting of the same shape. This fitting, in turn, attaches to a black-lacquered base plate, creating a striking contrast with the silver shade. The shade can be unclipped for cleaning or to change the lightbulb.
The lamp uses a single E14 pygmy lightbulb (25W maximum) in the center. Light from the bulb reflects off the numerous angles and silver surfaces of the shade, casting an abstract light pattern onto surrounding walls and surfaces. The piece is in good vintage condition.
