A striking flush mount ceiling light manufactured by Christoph Palme, Germany, during the 1970s. It’s composed of clear Murano teardrop glass elements on an aged polished brassed metal circular ceiling plate. The original blue manufacturer's label "Christophe Palme" is on the inside of the ceiling plate.
The flush mount features three concentric circles of glass hung at the same level with the outer one with the shorter versions. The flush mount has a total of 110 glass teardrops in two different sizes.
The light illuminates through the glass beautifully certainly adding an air of Hollywood glamour to any interior. Perfect for low ceilinged rooms, larger powder rooms, living and dining rooms and hallways. It's a stunning light that will give that certain wow-factor when entering a room.
The light requires 6 Edison E14 screw in lightbulbs or candle bulbs. Five are interspersed in a circle towards the centre and are evenly interspersed to allow the light to diffuse through the glass. One lightbulb sits in the centre.
The glass is in perfect condition with no chips or cracks. The brass has a wonderful aged polished patina. There is some discolouration to the brass on one edge which isn't too noticeable when the glass droplets are in place (refer to images). Two short droplets have been replaced with two of the longer versions which I have placed further up the chains in the middle so they're not noticeable and hang at the same height. I am in the process of sourcing replacements.
The wiring has been checked by a professional electrician and is in full working order.
Assembly: There are two sizes of glass - small and large. Start in the centre with the small ones hung at the end of the metal chains. The second row requires the small versions as well hung at the bottom of the chains. The third requires the long versions hung from the small metal coils set in the metal plate and the outer circle requires another row of the smaller ones also hung from the plate.
