1960s Danish Rosewood Wall Unit by Poul Cadovius

A beautiful, functional, and well-sized, Rosewood veneered, wall-hung wall unit by Poul Cadovius for CADO. - Royal System Shelving Unit.

The wall unit dates from the 1960s and is in pretty good condition when you consider its age and highly-functional daily use.  The unit consists of:

3 x Vertical Wall Supports

2 x Shelves with feature arrow supports

1 x Glass Cabinet Display Unit with two glass internal shelves

2 x Lower Double Door Storage Cupboards

1 x Pulldown Drinks Bar with Glass on the facing side

All the units and shelves show the Rosewood deep grain patterns beautifully.  The three Rosewood vertical supporting rails have a few chips specifically in the areas surrounding the hole edges of which there are eight to hold the unit firmly in place on the wall.  I have had a professional restorer restore the piece and to help balance the colour because of sun-bleaching caused in the past.  There is still some colour difference which is understandable but nothing to be too concerned about.  The shelves and upper cabinets can be configured to your preference.  Every section including the shelves feature dowels fitted at a 45 degree angle which slot into the supporting rails.  It's definitely a two person job fitting it and getting the three rails in the right place may need the help of a handyperson if you're not yourself.  The drinks cabinet has its original brass key.  It's a terrific piece and perfect for that mid century modern look.

Overall Width: 160 cm
Width of each shelf : 80cm
Depth shelves: 32cm
Overall Depth: 48cm
Overall Height: 200cm of the rails but I would recommend fitting it above your skirting boards or 25cm to 30 cm from the floor
