A stunning pair of 1970s "Camaleonda" sectional sofas with a matching ottoman designed by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia. Upholstered in a sumptuous fire regulated velvet with a dappled appearance called "Faze" - "which is irresistibly soft to the touch and alluringly opulent with its subtle sheen. Extremely practical with good durability. Faze is inherently fire retardant and offers a viscose velvet alternative that won’t pressure mark, making this the ultimate go-to velvet" - I quote. There is a small stain on one of the armchairs.
I am selling these chairs and ottoman on behalf of a client who has stated the following - The chairs have been newly upholstered and are constructed from their original parts, such as the feet, pins etc. The foam and fabric is new. The upholsterer was one of the original pattern cutters for Mario Bellini back in the 1970s. When he retired he would restore single chairs, purely for his own pleasure. No chair is specific with what was used, but whatever he can save from an original he’ll use to rebuild a new one. He is now in his eighties. All the reproductions that are seen now aren’t like these chairs because the cut is so specific. This is what makes these a little more special.
