Pair of 1970s Large German Peill & Putzler opaque white and striped glass mushroom shaped table lamps. The darker frosted stripe runs over the entire body of the lamps at varying degrees of width and thickness. The lamps are constructed from one piece of formed glass which is smooth, silky and extremely tactile. The internal lightbulb holder features the manufacturer's label.
The lamps are often referred to as "mushroom lamps" due to their shape, characterised by their rounded base and wider, dome-shaped shade, both made from one piece of glass overlayed with the striped pattern which becomes more distinct when the lamp is lit.
The lights are in full working order. An on/off switch is fitted along each of their white wire flexes. The wiring has been checked by an electrician and they're in perfect working order. A single larger Edison E27 screw in lightbulb is required in each one.
Perfect as ambient lighting either side of a sofa or as bedside table lamps. Perhaps together on a sideboard or shelving unit to light up a dark corner.
In very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or damage.
