Scheurich, a renowned West German pottery company was known for its innovative designs and colourful glazes known for its iconic "Fat Lava" glaze, characterised by a thick, textured, and often bubbly surface, resembling volcanic lava. The specific pattern, with its spiral or fossil-like relief details, is known as "Jura". The vase exhibits the classic Fat Lava mottled rich red vibrant glaze with intriguing swirled black patterns and a handle, further enhancing its organic and dynamic aesthetic.
