1950s Belgium Val St Lambert Blue Crystal Glass Table Lamp

This striking 1950s table lamp base was produced by the renowned Belgian glass manufacturer Val Saint Lambert, one of the most important and respected crystal houses of the 20th century. Founded in 1826, Val Saint Lambert built an international reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, innovative design, and the remarkable clarity and weight of its lead crystal. By the mid-century period, the factory was at the forefront of modernist glass design, collaborating with leading designers and producing sculptural pieces that balanced artistry with everyday function.

Crafted in rich blue and clear heavy lead crystal, this lamp features a tapering geometric form with a fluid, almost architectural presence. The glass has wonderful depth and luminosity, catching the light from every angle. Handmade in Belgium using traditional techniques, each example shows subtle variations in the crystal, making every lamp slightly different despite sharing the same design.  This lamp base is also different from others I have sold and I am selling because it has two parallel feature incisions on one side.  It is finished with a polished chrome light fitting and a black silk flex.  

The original Val Saint Lambert foil label is no longer present but the base is signed, confirming its authenticity and collectability. The lamp is in good vintage condition, with some minor age-related scratches to the base, consistent with its age and use. It has been fully rewired and is in complete working order. A single E27 bayonet bulb is required, and an LED bulb is recommended.

The shade is included at no extra charge.  The lightbulb is not included.
