1950s Venetian Murano glass wall or table mirror. A clear manufacturer's label on the front of the mirror reads - Velti VM Murano. Engraved mirrored glass (verre eglomise technique) side angled panels surround the rectangular clear mirror. Four Murano hand-blown glass flowers and leaves sit in all four corners. Three turned glass rods are fixed in place on the outer edges of the mirror and also where the glass surrounding panels meet the mirror in the middle. The rods are rather cleverly held in place and onto the original wooden backing by discrete metal wires and small nails.
The mirror is multi functional and can be used as a small wall mirror perhaps in a powder room or standing on a dressing room table. The glass is both clear and with some gold infused elements in the leaves and flowers which is emphasised with a gold coloured background. In very good vintage condition with some age-related wear to the booken backing.
