1960s vintage Rosewood sideboard, British made in a Danish design, manufactured by Wrighton, who were known as one of the first quality makers of fitted kitchens in the U.K. but also produced a small amount of furniture therefore making this piece rare to source.
The sideboard is beautifully designed and very well-made. The four concertina doors are slightly lighter in colour than the rest of the sideboard with a checkerboard stain highlighting the wonderful grain. The three drawers and doors have feature round, crafted, recessed pull handles. Each corner has a faceted, hexagonal, corner section which runs the length of the corner also forming the leg. The raised sides and back would allow a piece of glass to be cut to protect the Rosewood surface from wear and surface scratching.
The sideboard has been restored and refinished. There are some age related small dents to the legs and a small raised section to the grain on the top which is barely noticeable but worth noting - see image. You may also wish to replace the felt in the top cutlery drawer but its not essential. I have had this striking piece in my own home for 7 years but have decided to opt for something smaller.
