1960s Danish Rosewood Johannes Andersen Sideboard

1960s Danish Rosewood sideboard designed by Johannes Andersen.  Manufactured by Uldum Møbelfabrik.

The sideboard has two pairs of sliding doors, featuring recessed handles, with a set of four central drawers sitting between them.  The top drawer has a removable green felt covered tray designed for cutlery which can be lifted out making it easier to set the table. Height adjustable internal shelves sit behind three of the sliding doors.  Behind the right hand door there are three drawers covered in green felt which are perfect for storing glasses or items that may otherwise get scratched.

Johannes Andersen worked steadily for his own firm—as well as Swedish, Danish, and Norwegian companies such as Trensum, CFC Silkeborg, Bramin, and Uldum Møbelfabrik—until he closed his shop in his eighties. He passed away in 1991.
