1960s G Plan "Astro" Teak Nest of 3 Tables

British G Plan "Astro" Teak nest of 3 tables designed by Victor Bramwell Wilkins in the 1960s.  The Astro is from the Fresco range from G Plan furniture. Victor B. Wilkins was an in-house designer based at E. Gomme Limited, a family owned furniture business in High Wycombe.

The tables have a lovely smooth, sculpted design and are very well-made with interesting joints and feet making them very sturdy with cross-supports for additional stability.  The veneer table tops have an interesting border around their edges which enhances the beautiful patina of the grain. As far as nests of tables go they're quite large making which makes them all the more functional with even the smallest one being useful for a "tea on the knee" dinner.  The depth of colour, beautiful patinated grain, construction and stylish appearance means they never seem to date even though they were made over 50 years ago.

In very good vintage condition with some small dinks in places commensurate with their age and functional use.  Perfect for a living or dining room and could potentially be used as bedside tables as well.
