Italian Carrara Marble Dining Table Lotorosso by Ettore Sottsass for Poltronova

A striking and rare Lotorosso dining table, which was designed by Ettore Sottsass (1917-2007) for Poltronova in 1965. The circular table top is made from thick black-veined Carrara marble with an even thicker matching marble round base foot each separated by a black lacquered metal, cylindrical, pedestal column.

The table is difficult to find and a real collectors piece especially for the Sottsass fan given that he died a few years ago.

The table is in good vintage condition with some small light scratch marks on the pedestal column which are barely noticeable and some wear related fine scratches on the table top.  The table top is secured into the base with three metal screws.  Unfortunately the marble is chipped underneath which no longer holds one of the screws. It isn't visible when the table top is in place and the other two screws hold it steady and perfectly in place but is worth noting.

It is extremely heavy and requires at least two strong people to carry the marble top. This table seats 6 chairs easily and would look amazing in a modern design dining room and kitchen.

The table is on display at 7a Church Street.

Dimensions: Diameter 130cms. Height: 71cms
