An unusual large ceramic 'Fat Lava' pottery vase manufactured in Germany by Scheurich Keramik during the 1970s. If it wasn't stamped on the base and have the "Scheurich" manufacturer's label I wouldn't have guessed it was West German pottery. An understated vase which can be situated on the floor or on a sideboard.
The cream matt body with stripes that fade and disappear are interspersed with three bold colourful stripes of blues, greens and turquoise with smaller stripes running through them.
There are some tiny chips in the rim and in places on the vase which are barely noticeable.
On the base the Model number 553 52 is embossed in the centre.
A perfect addition for that boring corner of a living or dining room. It would also work as an umbrella holder in a hallway.
