1970s German Hillebrand Leuchten illuminated oval back lit wall mirror. The mirror sits within an acrylic flower-shaped frame with inward turning petals surrounding it. It also resembles flames around an oval sun. The frame holds three lightbulbs which the mirror slots on top of allowing the light to shine behind it and through the frame. Three E14 screw in lightbulbs are required. I would recommend LED candle bulbs for energy their saving and longevity. The mirror lifts off the frame easily to access the bulbs behind. The bulbs are positioned to shed an even light throughout the whole frame.
The frame has no chips or cracks. The mirror has quite a lot of foxing mainly around the outside and some on the centre as illustrated in the images. It can be replaced if this is a problem but personally I feel they add to its age and provenance and isn't a problem. I would recommend the mirror be hard-wired into the wall in order to avoid a visible wire leading to a socket but this isn't always possible.
Rewired by a professional electrician and in full working order. A pull cord to turn the mirror on and off hangs at the bottom hidden behind the mirror.
The mirror would be perfect for a hallway, bedroom or above a mantelpiece.
