1970s Murano Sommerso Glass and Brass Table Lamp

A small but perfectly formed Italian Murano glass and brass table lamp from the 1970s.  The lamp has a twisted triangular form with brown, yellow and clear glass. This glass-blowing technique is known as “Sommerso”, which in Italian means submerged. This technique is used to create several layers of glass (usually with different contrasting colours as in this case) inside a single object, giving the illusion of “immersed” colours that lay on top of each other without mixing.  The original conical brass bulb holder requires a single E27 screw in bulb.  Rewired and in full working order.  The flex runs through the centre of the lamp. A small groove is cut into the base which the flex runs along.  The flex is thicker than the groove which results in a very slight wobble which isn't major but worth knowing.  In very good vintage condition with some scratches to the base.

Shade not included.
