1970s Japanese "Dansk Designs" silver-plated zinc paperweight figurine. Designed by award-winning Swedish silversmith, Gunnar Cyren who was a pioneer of the use of zinc in silverware. On the base the ‘Dansk Designs, Japan’ is embossed including 'GC' for Gunner Cyren and the copyright C logo. It also states 'EPZ', which is the manufacturing technique used on this figurine meaning - electro-plated zinc.
The figurine has a simple yet elegant design, is very well-made, and extremely tactile. It would make a wonderful gift, display piece, as well as a practical paperweight. The original box is not available.
In very good vintage condition. There is some discolouration despite polishing and polishing it which is only really visible in certain light. I also think this would fade over time.
Dansk Designs are highly collectible.
