French antique cast iron cross possibly from a church yard, roadside or "chemin de croix". The Cross would have been cast about 150 years ago and decorated with briars and thorns. It's very heavy and has the majority of its original silver paint still intact which may have been touched up recently it's in such good condition. On the base there are two iron pegs which can be used to fix the cross to its base or into the ground. A wonderful decorative piece.
