Pair of 1960s Czech Shell Chairs By Frantisek Jirak

Pair of stylish 1960s Shell Chairs designed by Frantisek Jirak for Tatra Nabytok. This model was part of a number of futuristic designed items representing Czechoslovakia at EXPO Brussels in 1958. The shell of the chair is made of fibreglass which sit on interestingly constructed beech veneer legs. The chairs have been beautifully repaired and reupholstered in a retro pattern by Linwood fabrics. The legs have been fully restored and the joint under the seat which connects the legs has been given additional bolted support. A new cushion pad has also been added for additional comfort.
