Pair of 1970s German Glashütte Limburg polished chrome cylindrical wall lights or sconces. The circular thick Murano glass shades screw onto the front of the chrome fitting allowing the light from within to shine through them when lit.
Crafted with remarkable weight and substance, each sconce features solid, thick Murano glass that easily screws onto the polished chrome fixture. When unlit, the glass presents a deep, dark brown hue, acting as a sleek, minimalist sculptural element on the wall. The fixtures truly come to life when lit, transforming into a warm, glowing display of vibrant oranges and lighter, multi-tonal browns that showcase the unique depth and texture of the Murano glass.
Designed to be highly versatile, these fixtures can be mounted either as wall sconces or as flush-mount ceiling lights. Because of the dense, premium quality of the glass, these lights are more decorative than utilitarian, casting a moody, atmospheric glow rather than flooding a room with bright light. These lights have been professionally rewired and are in full working order. As expected with authentic vintage pieces of this age, there are some small scratches and rust spots to the central polished chrome disc located in the middle of the Murano glass, which do not detract from the overall striking appearance when mounted. There are some small hairline scratches to one or two of the glass shades which again does not detract from the appearance of the glass when mounted.
