A classic and iconic 'Forum' two-seater sofa designed by Robin Day for Hille. It was originally designed in 1964 and later licensed and manufactured by Habitat in the early 2000s.
The soft and supple dark brown leather has a lovely aged patina which makes it extremely comfortable. The sofa is surrounded on three sides by two solid Ash planks supported on feature square chromed-steel legs with black plastic feet which hold them in place . The sofa is well built, comfortable and compact. The sofa has a wonderful aesthetic from the back and sides especially when it's not pushed up against a wall. In total there are six dark brown upholstered leather cushions with fabric-backs. There is also a cleverly designed large angled fabric-covered support cushion which can't be seen when the cushions are all in place that angles the back cushions for additional comfort.
The sofa is in good vintage condition with wonderful horizontal grain patterns. The polished chrome is in good condition as is the seat webbing underneath the cushions. Strangely one of the leather cushions shows some wear and cracking but it's not torn.. I have no idea how this could have happened to only one cushion and not any of the others. There are some small chips to the wood which are illustrated in the images.
