A striking mid century polished chromed-metal and structured abstract glass floor or table lamp designed by Richard Essig for Besigheimer in Germany during the 1970s. The lamp stand illuminates in two sections which are separated by a chrome ring and rod.  The lamp sits on circular chrome base with a foot operated on/off switch situated along the flex which allows the light to illuminate in three different ways - 1. Shade & Stem 2. Shade only 3. Stem only.

The shade is not included because it's generally more cost effective to buy your own shade wherever you're located especially if you live overseas when the shipping can be more expensive than the shade itself.  If you'd like to buy this shade it's £60 plus shipping.

A single E27 Edison screw in lightbulb is required at the top which is hidden by the shade and in the glass sections a single Edison E14 screw in lightbulb, is required, which are accessed by releasing a single screw on the top and lifting the sections upwards.  I would recommend LED bulbs which last longer, produce less heat and are better for the environment.

In good vintage condition with some age related wear and pitting to the patination of the chrome base including some very small dents.

Dimensions: Diameter: 23cm; Height to the top of the bulb socket: 88cm Height to the top of the shade: 120cm
