Pair of 1960s Czech wall hanging suspended swivel and height adjustable wall lights. The thick opaline glass shades are hand-painted in a matching geometric design and designed by Antonín Junek and manufactured by Zukov, Valašské Meziříčí in Czechoslovakia during the 1960s/1970s.
The wall lights have been rewired with an antique brown silk braided flex from which the glass shades are suspended. The height of the shades can be altered by moving the thin metal rod up and down the flex which allows them to hang closer to the wall depending on your requirements. The shades can also be moved from side to side.
The wall lights are suspended from a thin black metal back plate which screws into the wall. A curved metal cover covers the wiring. I have painted this with a gold metallic paint because it was badly scratched but I have left the forked metal supporting rods in their original rustic condition. New brass bulb holder circular discs which hold the shades in place inside them have also been made because the original supports were missing. You can see these from below in the images.
The lights can be either plugged into the wall or hard wired depending on your requirements.
In a vintage rustic condition with some small chips to the top of the shades.
An Edison E14 screw in candle bulb is required in each one. The shades glow with a subtle diffused milky white light throughout the shade.
I ALSO HAVE A MATCHING 3 SHADE SUSPENDED CEILING LIGHT ON THE RETRO LIVING WEBSITE.
