An unusual space-age 1970s German four cascading shade and chrome hanging ceiling light. Manufactured by the Gebruder Leclair & Schäfer lighting company.
The light is comprised of one large shade in the centre which hangs at the lowest point with three matching smaller versions cascading above. The ridged neck of the shades feature three chrome rings on the top of each ridge and a bulbous round bottom. The shades are supported by a polished chrome lightbulb holder. The tube lifts upwards to allow two holding clips that flip upwards allowing the shade to slot over them. The clips are then pushed downwards holding the shade in place. A screw holds the shade in place before the tube is dropped back down concealing the screws inside. A polished chrome and lacquered/rubberised black metal star shaped ceiling support positions the shades evenly apart and conceals the wiring where it connects to the ceiling. A vertical tube beneath screws it to the ceiling allowing it to sit support flush.
In very good vintage condition with some small scratches to the silver chrome rings. The wiring has been checked by an electrician. In full working order.
3 x single Edison E14 small screw in lightbulb is required in the smaller shades and an Edison E26/E27 is required in the larger shade. The shades are white. The lightbulbs I chose show the shades being different colours. This is to illustrate how they'd look with different lightbulbs in them.
The manufacturer's paper makers label is present inside the ceiling cup. See images.
