This vintage pair of 1960s German Kaiser Leuchten space-age wall lights or sconces each features a sleek off-white lacquered tubular metal column with a pair of sputnik opaline glass globe shades. The lamps are fixed to the wall with a metal bracket, secured by a small screw at the top and bottom, which is easily released for access to the wiring. The opaline glass globes beautifully diffuse the light, eliminating glare and creating a soft, inviting glow.
Despite being from the 1960s, the lights have a contemporary look, showcasing the high quality of their design and construction. The lamps are in excellent condition, with no scratches or chips to the lacquered metal or glass shades. They are perfect as bedside lights or for a living or dining room, adding a touch of timeless style to any space.
Each globe clips and releases easily from the frame to provide access to the lightbulbs. Each globe requires a single Edison E14 screw-in lightbulb, for a total of four bulbs for the pair. The lights have been rewired and are in full working order.

About the Manufacturer
Gebrüder Kaiser & Co. Leuchten KG, also known as Kaiser Leuchten, was a prominent German lighting company with a rich history. Founded by Hermann Kaiser in Neheim-Hüsten in 1895, the company initially produced nickel-plated and copper-plated parts for other lighting manufacturers. Kaiser Leuchten experienced an economic breakthrough with the development of a low-cost petroleum lamp, and later expanded into the production of electric lighting fixtures, becoming one of the largest lighting manufacturers in the region between the two World Wars. The company was particularly known for its collaboration with designer Christian Dell and its adherence to Bauhaus design principles. The "Kaiser Idell" range, first featured in a 1936 catalogue, became a symbol of noble Germanic design and precise engineering. After its production plants were completely destroyed during World War II, Kaiser Leuchten was rebuilt and expanded, employing a workforce of up to 1000 people at one point. The company continued to produce lamps until it was acquired by the Thorn Lighting Group in the late 1970s.
